• Try-outs are closed to friends and family. This is to ensure that the participants are not intimidated by a crowd and to keep the process running quickly. Only those participating in try-outs will be allowed in the gym.
• All participants will be given a try-out number at random. As a group the participants will perform the 3 cheers, and the dance that they learned at clinics in front of our judge/judges. They will then be dismissed and come back in as groups of 2 or 3. At this time the participants will perform the 3 cheers and dance together. Then one at a time you will be asked to perform a jump sequence and asked to do a specialty if you have one. This can include tumbling (running or standing) leaps, other jumps etc. This is something special that you have! This is your time to shine!
• If need be, our judge(s) may ask to see you try-out again or with a different group of girls!
• You are not dismissed from tryouts until coaches tell you that you are allowed to leave!
ATTIRE FOR TRY-OUTS:
On Friday, June 26th, please wear a white shirt with no writing on it, black shorts, and athletic tennis shoes. Please have hair in a fully pony tail with bangs back out of your face. You may wear a bow if would like to. If wearing make-up please be sure that it is performance ready! Please no bright colors (blue, green, purple, etc).

Brush School District is pleased to introduce Amanda Boydstun as the new assistant principal of Beaver Valley Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. Amanda brings more than twelve years of experience in education, having served as a paraprofessional, teacher, and interventionist. Across those roles, she has developed a deep appreciation for working alongside staff and supporting students, and that collaborative spirit is something she will bring with her to Beaver Valley.
Amanda and her husband have been married for four years and are parents to a three-year-old daughter and a fifteen-month-old son. As a family, they love spending time outdoors, and they are looking forward to making the move from Rangely and becoming part of the Brush community. Small town living has always been important to them, and Amanda is excited to put down roots here.
Amanda is eager to become a Beetdigger and to begin getting to know our students, staff, and families. Please welcome Amanda to the Brush School District.

We are pleased to introduce Kevin Marlatt as the new principal of Beaver Valley Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. Kevin brings more than twenty years of experience in educational leadership, with a focus on building strong instructional systems, supporting teachers, and creating schools where students feel engaged and successful.
Kevin and his wife have been married for forty-one years, and together they have three children and two grandsons. Family is central to his life, and he carries that same care and commitment into the communities he serves. He also has deep roots in rural Colorado. His grandparents owned a farm in Byers, and Kevin spent many years working that land alongside his father and grandparents. He often draws on those experiences when thinking about schools, noting that growth in students, like growth in a field, takes patience, the right conditions, and steady care over time.
At Beaver Valley, Kevin is committed to listening, learning the story of our school, and working alongside staff to write a new chapter that ensures every student feels known, supported, and inspired to learn every day in every classroom.
We invite parents and the community to come meet Kevin in person! He will be at Beet Street Coffee on June 2nd and June 9th from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Stop by to introduce yourself, ask questions, and get to know him before the new school year begins.
Please welcome Kevin to the Beetdigger family.

If your child has medication stored with our school health office, please stop by to sign it out and take it home by the end of the day on Thursday, May 21st.
Questions? Contact the health office at your child's school. Thank you!
