Partnering with Parents: Working Together to Address Concerns

At Brush School District, we deeply value our partnership with parents and families. We believe that open communication is essential to providing the best educational experience for your child. As stated in our Public Concerns and Complaints policy (KE), we welcome "constructive criticism motivated by a sincere desire to improve the quality of the educational program or to equip the schools to do their tasks more effectively."

We recognize that questions or concerns may arise throughout the school year. When this happens, we're committed to listening and finding solutions together. Our goal is to address concerns promptly, directly, and at the level closest to the situation, as our Board believes that "complaints and grievances are best handled and resolved as close to their origin as possible."

How to Share Your Concerns

We've established a clear pathway for addressing concerns that helps ensure your voice is heard and that issues can be resolved efficiently:

Step 1: Start at the Source

If you have a concern about instruction, discipline, coaching, extracurricular activities, or learning materials, please begin by speaking directly with the teacher, coach, or sponsor involved. Many concerns can be addressed quickly through a simple conversation.

Step 2: Building-Level Support

If your concern remains unresolved after speaking with the teacher/coach/sponsor, your next step is to contact your building administrator (principal) and/or athletic director. They will arrange a meeting with all parties involved to help find a solution.

Step 3: District-Level Support

If you still feel your concern hasn't been adequately addressed, please contact our superintendent, who will review the previous discussions before responding to your concern.

Step 4: Board Consideration

After these steps, if you remain unsatisfied with the response, you may request that your concern be heard by the Board of Education.

Your Voice Matters

We value constructive criticism motivated by a sincere desire to improve our educational programs or help our schools become more effective. Every concern you share helps us grow and better serve our students and community.

Our Commitment to You

When you share a concern, we promise to:

  • Listen with respect and empathy

  • Take your concerns seriously

  • Respond in a timely manner

  • Work collaboratively toward solutions

  • Keep communication open throughout the process

We're committed to maintaining a positive partnership that ultimately benefits the students we serve together.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's education.
