Important Information about 2nd Grade Parent Step Up Day and Summer Camp Invention:
2nd Grade Parent Step Up Day
Greetings second grade parents and guardians. On May 13th the second grade classes will travel with their teachers and meet the third grade teachers and staff at Beaver Valley. We use this event to reduce the stress of transitioning to a new school with new routines and different staff. We would like to reduce the parental stress of transitioning to a new school as well, so please join Mr. Wilson and myself for a brief time and meet the third grade teachers on Wednesday the 13th at 4:00 p.m. We will have a quick building tour and discuss drop off and pick up processes. This can be a great time to alleviate worry and start the summer knowing that you already know some of the basics of Beaver Valley’s people, places, and practices. Thank you.
With Regards
Brian Singley, Principal Beaver Valley Elementary School
James Wilson, Assistant Principal Beaver Valley Elementary School

Dear Thomson Primary Families,
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our school, parents will be asked to complete a brief anonymous survey. The survey is designed to gather honest feedback, and no parent names or identifying information will be collected.
To encourage participation, all students who turn in the survey will receive a small prize, regardless of their parents' responses. The prize is simply a thank-you for taking the time to participate and share your thoughts.
Return surveys in by January 22, 2026 to your child's teacher!
Please note that individual responses cannot be connected to any student, and results will only be reviewed in summary form.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Sincerely,
Thomson Primary
From TPS:
Hello,
We would like to hear from parents about your child's experience with the Colorado READ Act and its observed impact.
As you may know, the Colorado READ (Reading to Ensure Academic Development) Act provides funding and a framework for improving literacy outcomes for kindergartners through third graders, particularly those with “Significant Reading Deficiencies” (SRDs) who are at risk to not read at grade level by third grade. The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has been working with WestEd and its partners to conduct a legislatively mandated evaluation of the READ Act since March 2020.
The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete, and all responses will be kept confidential.
*******We are only asking you to complete the survey if your child has ever been identified as having a significant reading deficiency (SRD) and/or has ever been given a READ plan.*******
Thank you in advance for your participation in this parent survey. We greatly appreciate your time and willingness to share your experience.
