We’ll take it!
Beaver Valley Student Council representatives are holding a coin contest among the grade levels now and through the month of February! The collected change will go directly towards purchasing a few trees/plants/landscaping items for our playground or front courtyard of Beaver Valley. This is a great opportunity that allows your child to take the initiative in contributing & giving back to our school community.
The grade level that earns the most money will be rewarded!
**Be sure to ask your parents if you can collect change from your vehicles, couches, and piggy banks!
If you have questions, please contact Beaver Valley’s Student Council Leader, Ms. Barr. a.barr@brushschools.org

Parents and guardians, we are sending home a family survey with your child today. Please take a few minutes to fill it out and return it to school. We want to better understand how school is working for your child and how we can better support attendance and learning. Your answers are confidential and will only be used to improve school supports. When your child returns the survey, they will get a small treat. The class with the best return percentage will get a small reward. Thank you for your help.

Show times are at 2:00 and 7:00 on Saturday, December 13th in the BHS Auditorium.
We hope to see you there!
Mrs. Horne (MS Drama Sponsor)
Thank you!

We would like to hear from parents about your child's experience with the Colorado READ Act and its observed impact.
As you may know, the Colorado READ (Reading to Ensure Academic Development) Act provides funding and a framework for improving literacy outcomes for kindergartners through third graders, particularly those with “Significant Reading Deficiencies” (SRDs) who are at risk to not read at grade level by third grade. The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has been working with WestEd and its partners to conduct a legislatively mandated evaluation of the READ Act since March 2020.
The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete, and all responses will be kept confidential.
We are only asking you to complete the survey if your child has ever been identified as having a significant reading deficiency (SRD) and/or has ever been given a READ plan.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this parent survey. We greatly appreciate your time and willingness to share your experience.

The kids in the Girls On The Run (GOTR) group have chosen to create a “wall of honor” for all those that have served, as part of their community outreach project. They would like to have it include both staff and family members of students that have served. If you would like to add a picture of your family member please send a picture with the student name on the back or a photocopy of the picture. GOTR will be making the poster on Veterans Day and kids can add to it with teacher permission or provide the pictures or photocopies in advance, whatever works best. This display will be in the cafeteria for students and staff to see.

We will continue our outdoor parade again this year!
Parents may watch from the parking lot or grassy areas of the school. Please bring your lawn chairs if you would like to sit and watch. Students will parade around the school building, in their costumes, on the sidewalk closest to the building and out around the circle. The parade will begin at 2:45 pm at BVES with classroom parties to follow the parade at approximately 2:55 pm. Parents are invited to join the parties. To make our parade family appropriate, we are asking that costumes do not include scary or gruesome masks or face paint of any kind. Blood and/or weapons are not allowed.
Students should not wear their costumes to school in the morning. Students must be able to put their costumes on over their clothes unassisted in the classroom. Our parties are for our students to enjoy the holiday, but if you feel you must dress up, please dress appropriately for school. We ask that adults not wear masks and/or scary, gruesome, or suggestive costumes. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave the building who is not dressed appropriately for school or for a child’s Halloween party. Remember that healthy snacks are preferred and all snacks must be store bought.

Hello Beaver Valley families. Just a reminder that the Big Kahuna fundraiser pickup is Today, October 14th from 2:30 to 5:00. Due to the perishable nature of the products and very limited storage space at the school, items must be picked up during the scheduled time. Please make arrangements to have your student's order picked up on the 14th. Thank you for a successful fundraiser. We greatly appreciate your support!
