The school is required by law to send letters home in increments of 5 absences to keep parents well informed of the situation
- 5 day absence letter - This is still in the satisfactory zone, and meant to be informational.
- 10 day absence letter- This is a call to action. We are officially in the warning zone, action needs to be taken. We need to create an attendance plan to help fix the problem. By state regulations all absences at this point need a Doctor's note to be excused or the Principal needs to be involved in the decision for the child to be sent home from school.
- 15 day absence letter - This is really a last warning before Truancy Court. Parents need to come in and meet with the Assistant Principal again.
- 20 day absence letter - This is informing you about Truancy Court, and letting you know that your student's name has been submitted to the District's Lawyer.
