Be prepared for both Career and College - studies show that students who take both CTE and core classes are more prepared for college. Not going to college? Great! With your CTE courses, now you have real skills that make you ready for the workforce. With any CTE pathway, you have the opportunity to get college credit while earning your high school diploma.
Develop non-cognitive skills - focus on skills like problem-solving, project completion, research, math, college application, work-related, communication, time management, critical thinking, etc.
Reason not to drop out - have a practical application to something you will actually do when you leave high school. Graduation rate for students with a CTE concentration is about 93%! When you graduate, your CTE courses will make you more competitive in the workforce.

Military
One of the many post-secondary career options for students is to join the armed forces. The U.S. military has five branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and the Navy. Despite the obvious risks of joining the military, it also offers many substantial benefits; career training, steady income, health care and tuition assistance. Basic requirements to join:
You must be a US Citizen or a resident alien
Must be at least 17 years old (17 year old applicants must have parental consent)
You must have a high school diploma
You must pass a physical medical exam
