Graduation Requirements
Class of 2007 and beyond


  1. BHS requires 48 credits to graduate.  Students earn 1 credit by having good attendance and passing (D grade or higher) 1 course per semester.
  2. BHS requires 26 of the 48 credits to be in specific areas as listed below.

    8 Credits of English, one of which is Speech and Writing

    Typically this is completed with:
    Freshmen: Freshman Writing and Freshman Literature
    Sophomores: Sophomore English and Speech & Writing
    Juniors: American Literature and Junior Composition
    Seniors: MCC English (2 semesters) OR College Prep English (2 semesters) OR Senior English/Mass Media

    6 Credits of Social Studies, two of which are World Geography and Two are U.S. History                     

    Typically this is completed with:
    Freshmen: World Geography (2 Semesters)
    Juniors: U.S History (2 Semesters)
    Seniors: American Government and another social studies courses

    • 4 Credits of Science
    • 4 Credits of Math
    • 2 Credits of PE
    • 1 Credit of Computers
    • 1 Credit of Business

 

*Note Four Year Colleges and Universities will likely require more core credit classes.
If you are pursuing playing a sport with NCAA you also will need more core credits.    

*Students must pay all fees and must be in good standing in all other ways in order to graduate.
